From within the womb of her Mother, Lorraine first enchantment with music began, as she listened to her father play songs to her mother, compose them at home and then perform them on stage to a lively African audience. He was a lead singer of an Afro Jazz band and played the saxophone. He filled their home with the sounds of music, music and nothing but music. She was born in Southern Africa in Zimbabwe , and followed one year later by a sister, who is also a budding Singer/Songwriter and hip hop dancer.
At seven, Lorraine loved to sing in the choir, and was already teased in the class for being the music teacher’s “pet”. At ten she competed in writing contests and won many poetry and literature/story writing competitions. At fifteen she was composing her own blend of poetry and music.
Upon finishing high school her Mother who was determined that she would not follow in her father’s footsteps and become a “struggling artist”, encouraged her to study marketing and public relations, but little did her Mother know that for Lorraine, the music within her would play on softly until one day l the music would become louder and louder, and pour out of her like an unstoppable Fountain. An ardent fan of Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, Tracey Chapman, Sting and Madonna – her music style would reflect traces of them all. In a blend of soft rock, pop – her first demo was born.
This is only the beginning of her journey.
